Good afternoon. First, this week begins the second nine weeks.  First nine weeks grades should now be officially posted on PowerSchool.  If you would like a paper copy of your child’s grades, please contact the office at 889-4000 to request one.

Second, the Greenwood Education Foundation is hosting a Family Movie Night this Saturday from 5:30 pm to 10:00 pm at the Middle School Football Field where they will be showing The Sandlot.

Beginning with the week of August 31st, academic study tables for freshmen needing extra assistance will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays during lunch.  Students will receive a notice on Tuesday morning directing them where to go during after they get their lunch.  If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Bruns. The Migrant Education Program (MEP) provides supplemental education and support services to eligible children through national funding. The purpose of the program is to ensure that all migrant students reach the academic standards and graduate with a high school diploma (or complete a GED).  Please see attached the attached survey if you believe this pertains to you.  You can return it to:

We are proud to announce that for the first time in
school history, the Greenwood HS Music Department has qualified for the ISSMA
Total Department Award.  Both the band and choir components of the music
program fulfilled all of the criteria necessary for this award.  To
achieve this, Greenwood had to earn a gold rating in marching band, concert
band, jazz band, concert choir, jazz choir and solo and ensemble for band and

Congratulations go out to several Greenwood High School students.  Based on their PSAT scores, Michael Tam and Jaden Smith have met the requirements to enter the 2016 National Merit Scholarship Program.  Approximately 3% of program entrants quality for this pretigious honor and these two high performers have met these strigent requirements.  Congratulations also goes out to Alyssa Roscoe who was honored by the Carson Scholars for her outstanding academic achievement as well as her dedicated humanitarianism.  GHS is honored to have the opportunity to have these quality individuals attend GHS and inspire others with their work both inside and outside of the classroom.  Congratulations to all three students on these great honors!
